 Mark Purdey Research Fund

All of my field research to date has either been funded from my own pocket or by generous donations from many supportive members of the public. It is your money that has enabled me to unearth the true environmental causes of  the spongiform group of diseases - high levels of manganese / low copper combined with high intensities of eco-oxidizing agents.

This is a major coup for those individuals who have thought laterally and continually helped to keep my work afloat - despite the intensity of "anti-purdey" propaganda that has been pumped out to the public by the official Establishment over the years.

The intense energy and enthusiasm of Joanna Wheatley spurred me into setting up a research fund with her in 1994 - This financed ground breaking experiments by Dr Stephen Whatley at the Institute of Psychiatry in London, where the OP warblecide, phosmet, was shown to increase susceptibilty of nerve cells to prion disease.

I am researching and writing fulltime today, and therefore still welcome donations from members of the public to enable the continuation of this important area of environmental research. There is ongoing work to be completed in the field of spongiform diseases, plus I want to launch environmental analyses/surveys into clusters of glioma brain tumours, multiple sclerosis, myalgic encephalomyelitis, and the Guam syndrome (Parkinsons/Alzheimers/Motor neurone disease) clusters in the South Pacific.

Because I am a one person 'team', no funds need to be squandered on administrative, secretarial, PR or bureaucratic costs at all.  All money is therefore channelled into the actual "hands on", essential costs which are incurred in getting the field work done; eg; low cost airfares, subsistence/accommodation (although I try to sleep rough if possible!), laboratory analyses charges, publication charges, etc.

I have 'free' field labour being offered in the cluster areas in the USA and Japan. This is kindly supplied by students who are doing their thesis on my theory. In this respect, my appreciation goes out to Sarah Simpson, Kimeco Ishikawa, Tammy Coltrane for their offers of help over the next research season.

In 1987 when my research first started, nobody was even allowed to think that the environment had anything to do with BSE at all. But today is a different story; there are a hundred or so scientists out there who are trying to plagiarise/hijack the grants going for my line of work; ironically, yesterday's skeptics have become today's plagiarists!

But we should never forget that these important achievements have been enabled by your generous donations.

Despite assurances of funding from various high ranking Ministers and government scientists over the years, none of my research has ever been funded by any official or unofficial organisation to date. However, some inaccurate media spins in the past have had the audacity to report that the government are funding me - no doubt to appease public interests in seeing me receive official funding for my work!

Once again your assistance, however small, is greatly appreciated in keeping this truly independent, frontline work afloat.
