When it comes to funding for Scientific research, so much depends on Government as well as corporate business. Funding is needed and scientists lobby both Government and big business for the necessary finance for their work.

The general public might hope and suppose that Government would act in the interest of us all to seek the truth and allocate funding for research that is essential, and urgent, especially into diseases that could affect us all in one way or another.

However, Government is influenced as much by corporate interests as the corporations themselves. There is no doubt that essential research is abandoned, delayed or allotted inadequate funds to proceed all too frequently.

For instance, research into BSE is far from completed and the Government has chosen to 'act' on one 'theory' rather than fund research into alternatives to find the true facts as soon as possible.

On these pages you will find articles illustrating both the good and bad strategies employed by Government, Scientists and Corporations in  the name of progress as well as my rebuttal of the Gabriel Horne Report and correspondence between myself, my solicitors and DEFRA.
